I teach Digital Photography, Adobe Photoshop & Photo 101 classes for the Beverly Hills Adult School. Classes meet at the Beverly Hills High School, 241 S. Moreno Dr, Beverly Hills, 90210. Adobe Photoshop for Beginners Course
Learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop’s most popular photo-editing program. Learn how to enhance, retouch, hand-color photos as well as many other techniques. Follow along with me as I guide you through various techniques you'll need to know for optimizing your images. Classes meet in the schools computer lab so you get hands-on training. Digital Photography for Beginners
This course will give you the essential skills needed to get started with digital photography. Students will learn about camera controls, resolution, memory cards and downloading images to your computer. We'll cover composition, printing, emailing photos and using software such as Adobe Photoshop. Bring your digital camera, cables & instruction book to the first class, we'll be taking pictures. Photography 101: Black & White photo course
Ansel Adams wanna be? This is just the course for you! Get a review on how to operate a 35mm camera and darkroom basics. Small class size allows for a personalized pace, with step by step instruction tailored to individual needs. Learn the art of taking photographs using a 35mm camera and black & white film. Course covers basic b&w darkroom equipment and processes. You'll be developing your own b&w film and making prints in the schools darkroom. I have 35mm cameras available to use during class if you don't have one. I'll provide a supply list the first week of class. $15 lab fee payable to teacher in class. Adobe Photoshop: Intermediate/Advanced
This course builds on your existing knowledge of Photoshop and expands your list of creative techniques to turn an ordinary photo into the extraordinary. We'll explore such features as using curves to correct exposure & color, and blending modes, gradient maps, more retouching & selection skills including masking & the pen tool. Digital Photography Intermediate course
Course extends the basic material covered in the Beginning Digital Photography class. Digital photography has become the medium of choice for both professional and amateur photographers. Topics include exposure, lighting, white balance, lens options, file storage tips, printing and more. We'll be using Adobe Photoshop to optimize our images. Bring your digital camera, cables & instruction book to the first class; we’ll be taking pictures right away. Bring your laptop computer if you have one for the digital photo or Photoshop classes (You'll need to have Photoshop or Elements installed for the Photoshop classes).
You're welcome to bring snacks or bake some chocolate chip cookies for the group. Might bring a sweater too, some think the room's a bit chilly.
